The EUNIS habitat classification is the most comprehensive pan-European system for habitat identification. The classification is hierarchical and covers all types of habitats from natural to artificial, from terrestrial to freshwater and marine. There are crosslinks to other typologies. The 2012 version includes all habitat groups, including those not yet revised in the new version 2021/2022. More information and the data in excel format is available here.
